Prior to the introduction of its ornamental line, the company has mainly been involved in aquaculture and seafood trading. The company began the commercial production of shrimp within its lined two-meter deep pond facility in 74 hectares of land on Barmid Island (84 hectares Barmid Island is located behind Reem Island, a 15 minute drive and a five minute boat ride away from Abu Dhabi) and fin fish breeding in Al Ajban by 2006. The commercial production of marine and fresh water ornamental fish commenced in 2009 and currently boasts around 10 different species which are produced in the farm.
